“Striped Paintings”

These folded paper objects were fabricated from colored paper pulp laid down in stripes on a special screen used by paper makers called a couching screen. After each sheet was released and partially dried, I folded it and added elements in pastel and pencil. I used powdered colors added to the pulp mixture (slurry) in squeeze bottles to create each striped sheet.
